Experience

Grounded in optimism and with a love for learning, teaching is a favorite pastime of Leah Virsik. In addition to her professional art practice, she teaches art to a wide range of youth and adults, including those with memory impairment and intellectual and developmental disabilities. She strives to meet students where they are and enjoys the challenge of figuring out what to do when things don’t always go as planned.

Her artwork is driven by an interest in materials and includes collage, sculptural fiber, book arts, and patience. Select exhibitions in the Bay Area include Mercury 20 Gallery, City College of San Francisco Art Gallery, PhotoCentral Gallery and galleryFritz in Santa Fe, NM.
