Saajidah is a History Teacher and Mentor at Fusion Academy in Plano. She received a B.A. in History and a 7-12 History Teaching Certification from the University of Texas at Dallas. While in college she became a part of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Phi Delta Kappa- Professional Organization for Educators, and Phi Alpha Theta- History Honor Society. She wrote her history honors’ thesis on the Armenian Genocide, thus beginning her love of historical research and writing.
Before college, Saajidah took a year off to learn Classical Arabic and has since taught the language to both children and adults in the last few years. After graduating from college, Saajidah substitute taught in Plano ISD and worked as an English tutor for kids at Best Brains Learning Center.
Despite COVID, Saajidah had the opportunity to spend this last year undertaking a Master’s in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. She spent six months studying in London and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city.
In her free time, Saajidah loves traveling and going on outdoor adventures. Iceland has by far, been one of her favorite places where she experienced hiking up a glacier, seeing the Northern Lights, and swimming in the Blue Lagoon. She also enjoys reading, playing board games with family and friends, and hunting for the best oat lattes!
