Director of First Impressions
Rachel Bitgood is originally a native of Charleston, SC. She attended Belhaven University in Jackson, MS, where she obtained both a B.F.A. in Dance and a B.A. in English. Some of her unique artistic experiences in college include performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as showcasing her own choreography in multiple concert dance festivals. As a university tutor for two years and a member of Sigma Tau Delta (International English Honors), Rachel realized her passion for academia and education. Some of her favorite college studies include 19th and 20th Century Russian Literature and Victorian British Literature, as well as a year-long project devoted to the study of aesthetic theory. She ardently believes in the intersection of arts and academia, not only for the sake of knowledge but for understanding the nature of life, humanity, and hope.
Following graduation, she worked for the Mississippi Secretary of State and co-choreographed a ballet for her alma mater before getting married and moving to Dallas, TX. She is passionate about helping others discover the joy of learning and find the beauty in life. As Director of First Impressions, she is eager to serve Fusion’s families with warmth, enthusiasm, and compassion.
When not devouring a book, Rachel stays involved in everything artistic; she is a freelance choreographer with a deep and abiding passion for creating dance. She is obsessed with coffee and animals (notably dogs and birds), and she enjoys writing poetry or playing with photography in her spare time.
