Kay is excited to be the visual art/graphic art teacher at Fusion Academy! She loves sharing her love of all things creative with her students and co-workers!
Kay brings a lot of life experience to the students of Fusion. She graduated from the University of Arkansas where she majored in art and graduated with her certification to teach art in grades K-12. She has additional training in Gifted and Talented and The Exceptional Child. Before coming to Fusion, Kay was blessed with a long, fulfilling career teaching art to students from kindergarten through high school in Arkansas, Kansas and Texas, over a 35-year time span! Kay always tells her students that more than teaching them to become artists, she wants to teach them to think like artists!
When Kay is not teaching art, she enjoys her husband Mike, and any of her five children, their spouses, and three grandsons (the first grand-daughter is due in March 2020!). She has a fur baby, a schnauzer Beau, and her grand-pup Finn at home. She loves to travel, having been to many European countries, Mexico, and Hawaii. She and her family enjoy serving in their church and community.
Kay owns her own business and honored to be a Mary Kay Angel with the Mary Kay Foundation which supports research for cancers affecting women and domestic abuse against women and children.
