Jackie Allen graduated from New York University where she designed a major that combined psychology and creative writing/poetry. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in clinical psychology at Antioch University, with the goal of becoming a licensed psychotherapist. In addition to her work at Fusion Academy, she is also a marriage and family therapy trainee at Women’s Clinic & Family Counseling Center in Culver City. Prior to joining the Fusion team, she worked at the Institute for Girls’ Development, a therapy center for girls and young women located in Pasadena. Jackie wore many hats at the Institute, including co-facilitating a weekly therapy group for girls ages 8-10 and assisting at a summer program for girls who have ADHD and/or autism spectrum disorder. Before working in the fields of psychology and education, Jackie explored another passion of hers: music. For three years she worked at record label Light In The Attic aiding in the release of archival vinyl reissues in various different capacities. Jackie gets much joy and laughter from working with kids and teens and is very excited to learn and grow with the young Fusionites who frequent the Homework Café.
