Jacob Edelstein teaches subjects in the Humanities at Fusion Academy. He was born and raised in Palos Verdes, graduated from Palos Verdes High School, and went on to earn a B.A. from Soka University of America where he studied Linguistics and Translation. Since then, he has worked both in the classroom and as an administrator for schools in the O.C., Houston, Texas, and Mexico City, Mexico. Jacob also sometimes goes by “Jake”, plays a whole bunch of instruments, works as an ocean lifeguard for the City of Long Beach, CA, and is a literary translator for Spanish. He is the translations editor for the literary magazine, Hunger Mountain, and his translation work has appeared recently in the Colombia Journal, the Southern Review, and the International Journal of Dialogic Collaborative Practices. He is absolutely fascinated by language, and bets that he can convince you that studying it is worth your time.
