Education

Diane received her M.S. from Georgetown University and her Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America, Washington D.C., in French and Spanish. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Université de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France. Diane has native-like fluency in French and Spanish. She also speaks Armenian and she is learning Turkish. With a keen interest in educational technology and second language acquisition, Diane has completed certifications in curriculum and instructional design, as well as online teaching and learning. She is also a Canvas certified teacher.

Experience

Diane has been teaching for over 20 years. Throughout her teaching career, she has taught French and Spanish language and literature courses in several universities and she has extensive experience teaching all levels in both French and Spanish in the public school system. With an interest in curriculum design and technology, Diane loves to design standards based content that meets the specific needs of students in the 1:1 setting. With a firm commitment to UDL (Universal Design for Learning), and a Canvas certified teacher, Diane believes that everyone can learn a foreign language, with learning content accessible to all. One of Diane’s passions is to create scaffolded authentic resources that are communication focused, preparing students to speak and use the language in real life situations.
