Education

Jessica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in English from University of Delaware and her Master’s Degree in Secondary English Education from Fordham University in New York City. She continues to study best practices in literacy and is passionate about habits of mind as they relate to learning and success. She was recognized by the US Department of Education in 2016 for the service-learning and social-emotional work she does with her students.

Experience

Jessica is an English/History teacher at Fusion, and is looking forward to building relationships with the students. She has previously taught English/Language Arts for 16 years in public school. She truly understands that the structure or environment of a traditional school is not the best fit for all students, and believes in the holistic and personalized approach that Fusion offers.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Jessica loves photography and getting to her “to be read” list.
  • She also spends time hiking or playing a good game of fetch with her chocolate Labrador Retriever, Roxie.
