Jean-Pierre Alarcon

Jean-Pierre (JP) is thrilled to be part of the of the Fusion team and to have the opportunity to teach and mentor amongst such an amazing team of dedicated and talented group of individuals. He currently teaches History, English, and French. Originally, from New York, JP received his BA/BS in International Business/Latin American Studies/Spanish from Plattsburgh State University in New York. During his time at Plattsburgh, he took the time to complete a year of coursework at The Adolfo Ibáñez University in Viña del Mar, Chile. While there, he studied International Trade while interning at Pro-Chile. After graduating JP worked in the hospitality/entertainment industry, he always had a penchant for tutoring French/Spanish/English to those who inquired. His experience in tutoring spans across the Atlantic from France to North and South America and began when he was just a young boy. At the age of eight, he already had his first student. He taught French to “Nick” a Greek deli owner in JP’s native Jackson Heights, Queens. Back then, he accepted payment in the form of Snickers bars.

Outside of the classroom, JP is a proud husband and father of two teenagers. He spends his extra time helping at the Salvation Army in Brooklyn. If his schedule allows he makes time to see friends and family and to attend a concert or two. You can always find him in and out of his home in the suburbs of NJ tinkering around the garden / garage, cooking, or going to see his son play football or watch his daughter in a play.

JP loves the diversity of interests and personalities at Fusion. He hopes to foster an atmosphere for growth, to channel compassion, spark interest in the unknown, open mindedness, and promote excellence and innovation in everything they do.
