Kirsten comes to Fusion with more than 20 years’ experience working with non-traditional learners in a variety of settings. She began her Career with Fusion Academy in July of 2017 as the Director of the Homework Café on the Los Gatos campus, where she provided students with guidance and assistance in completing their homework assignments as well as fun and enriching extracurricular activities. In addition to working at Fusion, she believes so much in their revolutionary, one-to-one educational model, that she sends her son to Fusion every summer!
Prior to joining the Fusion team Kirsten worked for several years as a Camp Director at a sleepaway program for middle school and high school students who have social cognitive challenges, such as high-functioning autism. Additionally, Kirsten spent close to a decade as an entrepreneur, running a nanny-recruitment agency for families of children with special needs. She has also worked as a tutor and is trained in Lindamood/Bell programs, as well as Applied Behavior Analysis. Kirsten is passionate about helping others achieve their personal best, emotionally, socially and academically.
Kirsten earned a bachelor’s degree in Pre and Early Modern Literature from the University of California in Santa Cruz. In her free-time she enjoys hiking, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
