Kim Cho is excited to join the Fusion Los Gatos family as a math teacher mentor. She was born and raised in Korea. She earned her Ph. D in electronic engineering at Yonsei University and worked as a research engineer at Korea Telecom Research Center.
Moving to US opened up a new chapter for her. She chose to stay at home to be with her two daughters who were 3 and 6 years old. She started tutoring math and completed her secondary math teacher Certificate Program at Collin County Community College in Texas. Then her husband’s job brought the family to the Bay Area. She has worked at an elementary school in Palo Alto as an instructional aide and tutored math for kids from 5th through 11th grade for more than 15 years. Through her experience as a tutor and an aide, she became familiar with math curricula of Bay Area schools.
Her teaching philosophy is to help students fully grasp the concepts concretely so that they are not only able to connect the dots between understandings but also find joy in math. She is so happy that she became a part of team who can make difference in each student's life.
She lives with her husband, her younger daughter, and two small white dogs: Yeppie and Somi. In her free time, she likes to look at her plants, listening to K-pop music, walking with her dogs, and crocheting stuffed animals.
