Katie Markovich

Humanities Teacher

Katie Markovich is a longtime writer and educator who is thrilled to join the Fusion community. A proud Midwesterner, she calls both Akron, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois “home.” She began her career in education as an Admissions Intern/Counselor at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. She also graduated from Wooster with a BA in English, receiving departmental and thesis Honors. She then moved to Chicago to pursue a writing career, but soon found herself working in various private tutoring, test prep, and college admissions consulting positions. When not designing curriculum and college plans for private clients, she could be found volunteering with 826Chi and iMentor Chicago, providing tutoring services as well as college access guidance. She also spent 5 years working in eLearning and digital training, creating award-winning educational content for a host of high-profile clients. Don’t worry—she still found time to write. She is a graduate of the Second City Comedy Writing program and her writing has been featured in various literary and humor publications.

In her free time, Katie enjoys reading, writing, cooking, consuming any and all media, and exploring LA with her husband. Please give her recommendations that pertain to any!
