MA in Special Education, BS in Psychology, Clear Education Specialist Credential


Katheryn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. With her psychology degree, Katheryn spent several years working in the mental health and social services fields. Wanting to return to more direct services with children and adolescents, Katheryn decided to re-enter the world of education. While working as a Special Education Teacher at a Non-Public School under an emergency credential, Katheryn enrolled at California State University, Northridge, to work on her Clear Education Specialist Credential. During this time, she was promoted to Vice Principal at her Non-Public School, and directly following her Clear Education Specialist Credential, she completed her Master of Arts degree in Special Education.


Katheryn has spent over 15 years working in education, working as a peer tutor, working as a classroom TA, Teacher, Vice Principal, Assistant Director, and Head of School.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • When not hanging around the school, Katheryn enjoys hanging around rock walls at the climbing gym, and on real rocks in places like Joshua Tree, New Jack City, Tuolumne, Yosemite, and more!
