Math and Science Teacher

Erin is a Los Angeles native who grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She has primarily taught science for over 12 years and teaches math and science for Fusion. Erin attended college at UC San Diego where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Biology minor. As an undergrad, Erin worked in labs doing biology and psychology research as well as tutoring middle and high school students in science. After college, Erin moved to the East Coast and worked in the biotech industry doing plant genetics research. After a few years in North Carolina, Erin decided to move back to California but took a detour to China to teach English for a summer. Teaching English in China to middle, high school and university students was a mind opening experience which helped Erin decide that teaching was the right career path for her. After China, Erin worked at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at UCLA doing genetics research. She then went to graduate school at UC Santa Barbara where she earned her M.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience and Behavior. After graduating with her master’s degree, Erin started teaching science full time for LAUSD and earned her California Clear Teaching Credential in Secondary Life Science from the LAUSD District Intern Program. Erin has taught a variety of high school courses including Biology, Psychology, Health, Life skills as well as many electives. Erin is also the mom of two young children, Lila - age 9 and Lucas - age 5. Erin has started two small businesses teaching parenting, art, baking and life skills workshops to parents and kids together.
