I began my path to education as a coach shortly after I graduated high school, having coached volleyball, soccer and basketball. I have always enjoyed sharing information that leads to growth and enlightenment. My first teaching experience away from coaching was at OCC, and several years later the forces of nature drew me to teach middle school sciences, along with several other subjects including technology. I have perpetually been grateful for the opportunities to work with students and athletes individually. I am grateful for the opportunity to do just that here at Futures Academy.

It was in high school where I met the love of my life. We married shortly after we both finished college at Long Beach State (Kinesiology/Physical Education). My wife and I were gifted with 4 fabulous children. Together, we enjoy the outdoors where we can participate in running, walking, watersports, beach volleyball, hiking, exploring, backpacking, snorkeling, and exploring. Being lost in nature is a treasured experience. Traveling has become a passion, whether it be to island destinations or national parks or historic landmarks. Music has always played an important role for me, sometimes just to provide a soundtrack to life, other times for mood intensification or mood changing. In my spare time, I like to create my own music with a guitar. I also enjoy getting lost in an art project, whether it be painting, drawing, woodworking or some other form of tangible expression. Gardening is another interest I have as I would like to eventually grow all of my own vegetables and fruits. Recently, I became involved in a few ministries that bring joy to others through delicious food.

The more that you read, the more things you’ll know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.-Dr.Suess
