Director of Student Development
Master of Arts in Teaching and BS in Biological Sciences
My B.S. was in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Education as well as a Master in Arts of Teaching from the University of California, Irvine.
I was the Director for the YMCA of Orange County at Seacliff Elementary. In this role, I was fiscally responsible for the site’s financial health as well as the daily operations of the program. I made sure the schedule and curriculum incorporated various activities ranging from Art to Science. I hired, developed and supervised staff in the field of lesson delivery, behavior management and supervision. My classroom experience included time as a student teacher at UCI and as well as a Site Coordinator with THINK Together, an extended learning program. During my years in the classroom, I learned to cater to the learning needs of students by developing lessons that match their abilities. To lead them down this pathway, my teaching philosophy focused on exposing students to the curriculum in a way that is relevant to their interests and as well as the learning objectives.
