Education

Krystal Lanier earned her Associates degree in Political Science from Miami Dade College – The Honors College and transferred to Georgetown University in Washington D.C.. At Georgetown, Krystal majored in Government and minored in Education, Inquiry and Justice. She is currently enrolled in the American University Education Policy & Leadership Master’s program where she can feed her curiosity and passion for education equity.

Experience

After graduating, Krystal became a corps member for Teach For America, where she began her teaching journey right here in Houston, Texas as a middle school Social Studies teacher for a public charter school.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Lived and studied in Quito, Ecuador
  • Met with and interviewed 6 Presidents from different Latin American Countries
  • Wakes up at 5am every morning to workout
