Description

Fusion Academy is pleased to host speaker Kati Strong with College Living Experience (CLE) at our next Coffee & Connections for ALL community members.
Topic: Reframing Failure.
Everyone experiences failure in their lives, and one’s response to failure sets the tone for its short and long-term impact. It is crucial for students to have opportunities to experience and problem-solve through failure during their early years to better prepare for future struggles. As students transition into young adulthood, increased expectations for self-advocacy and initiation can lead to often feeling overwhelmed with the decision-making process. By experiencing natural consequences of their decisions in a safe, supportive environment and developing healthy responses and strategies for managing when failure happens, students build the skills and resilience necessary for independence in adulthood.
Kati Strong is the Program Director of College Living Experience (CLE) in Austin, Texas. She has over 17  years of professional experience working with people of all ages with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD, various learning disabilities, and other exceptionalities and is passionate about encouraging and supporting all individuals to strive for their highest potential for independence and satisfaction in their daily life and work, regardless of ability or disability.
