Zach is the Assistant Director at Fusion Galleria. He comes to our campus from Fusion Southlake, where he served for 4 years as a teacher, Director of Homework Café, and Assistant Director. He earned his B.A. in Latin American Studies at Carleton College. Right after college, he went onto Indiana University to pursue a PhD in Anthropology and finish his mini-documentary on street performance as a social commentary on life in Andean city centers, but his heart always had other plans. From tutoring and teaching in Ecuador and Peru, to brokering a relationship between Indianapolis Upward Bound and Title XI centers at Indiana University, giving back and education have always been very important. Zach is currently pursuing his Masters in Digital Age Learning and Educational Technology at Johns Hopkins University. He is passionate about all things pedagogy, but really gets excited about assessment, critical thinking, and transfer.
He started his career in education as a Spanish and Calculus teacher at his alma-mater, located in the heart New Orleans soon after leaving graduate school. His passion for teaching has deep roots in the strong ties between education and building relationships with students and their communities, hence why Fusion has been such a great fit. In his free time, he loves to do absolutely everything with cars, hanging out with his wife, and playing music!
