Matthew Lees

STEM Teacher/Mentor

Matt has spent his professional career at the intersection of science, technology, and education. With a Master’s Degree in Applied Physics from Georgia Tech and a BS in Physics from Trinity College in Connecticut, he has taught physics and astronomy at a college preparatory school, helped build an education-focused start-up in the dotcom era, and trained colleagues and business partners as a product manager at several global high-tech corporations. He especially loves to work one-on-one with students.

Outside of the classroom he enjoys baseball (met his wife at Yankee Stadium), spending time with his 2 sons and 2 dogs), constructing crossword puzzles (his puzzles have appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and other publications), traveling (nearly 20 countries), and star gazing (saw Halley’s Comet through his 6-inch Newtonian reflector telescope the last time it was in the neighborhood).
