Jacob is honored to serve as the founding Head of School at Fusion Academy Hingham and feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of such a dedicated and compassionate team of educators. He looks forward to working with students, families and professionals in the South Shore.

Jacob discovered his passion for alternative education after losing his eye to a drive-by shooting when he was fifteen years old. As a result, he founded a mentoring and leadership development organization and pursued a career in education. Prior to joining Fusion, Jacob served as an Executive Director and Dean of Students at an international school in Rhode Island as well as a teacher, mentor and coach at private, public and charter schools in New York. Jacob earned his master’s degree in Education Administration from Providence College where he served as the Multicultural Student Affairs Graduate Assistant and was awarded a scholarship for innovative education research with Fulbright Scholars and the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh. While completing his graduate degree, Jacob also served as the Rhode Island Field Director for the Horatio Alger Scholarship Association, teacher and mentor for the Woonsocket School District, Research Fellow for the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities and Women’s Basketball Coach for Rhode Island College.

Jacob recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10KSB Program and served as a board member and mentor for Rhode Islander’s Sponsoring Education (RISE).  He also served as an executive consultant for multiple international education organizations, a member of the Global Shapers, an executive committee member for the United Way Young Leaders Circle and a College Leadership Rhode Island (CLRI) fellow. Jacob received his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland, where he conducted and presented research at regional, state and national conferences. During his free time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family and dog, traveling the world and experiencing new cultures, playing basketball and a wide variety of other team and individual sports, making music, producing videos, taking photos, mentoring and being outdoors (hiking, boating, skiing, canoeing, whitewater rafting, camping, golfing, horseback riding, fishing etc.). Fun Facts: Jacob’s high school named an annual award after him for overcoming adversity and inspiring others, and he has traveled the world making videos for his mentoring organization and ghostwriting lyrics for other artists.
