Education
Jacob earned his Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Providence College where he was awarded a scholarship for innovative education research with Fulbright Scholars and the Ministry of Education in Bangladesh. While completing his graduate degree, Jacob also served as the Rhode Island Field Director for the Horatio Alger Scholarship Association, Research Fellow for the Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities and Women’s Basketball Coach for Rhode Island College. Jacob received his Bachelor of Science in Education Degree from the State University of New York at Cortland, where he graduated Cum Laude and conducted research that he presented at regional, state and national conferences. He also recently received a leadership scholarship for the Executive MBA program at Brown University that he looks forward to pursuing in the near future.
Experience
Jacob discovered his passion for alternative education after losing his eye to a drive-by shooting when he was fifteen years old. As a result, he founded a mentoring and leadership development organization for students who had been through traumatic life experiences and pursued a career in education. Prior to joining Fusion, Jacob served as an Executive Director and Dean of Students at an international school in Rhode Island as well as a teacher, mentor and coach at private, public and charter schools in New York.
Jacob was also selected for the Goldman Sachs 10KSB Program and served as a board member and mentor for Rhode Islander’s Sponsoring Education (RISE) which provides scholarships for students with incarcerated parents. He also served as an executive consultant for multiple international education organizations, a member of the Global Shapers, an executive committee member for the United Way Young Leaders Circle and a College Leadership Rhode Island (CLRI) fellow.
