Colleen Carosella-Moshier

Special Education Lead

Colleen is the Special Education Lead for Fusion Academy Fairfield.  She is also the Humanities Department Head and teaches American Sign Language, English and Executive Functioning.   She received a Bachelor of Arts in Education which specializes in Deaf and HOH Education at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina.  After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles, California with her husband. Colleen worked at GLAD(Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness) as a counselor and mentor for Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program for deaf teens.  After that, she taught deaf inner city kids of LA with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 6 years before moving back east to New York.   She taught in NY for a while before having her 3rd child and moved to Connecticut.  Colleen volunteers her time in Trumbull, Ct being a motivational speaker for special needs kids on bullying, awareness, and kindness.
Colleen enjoys being with her three kids and husband along with 2 dogs. In her free time she loves to do home-art projects by restoring old furniture or baking gluten free dairy free foods for her son.
Fun Fact to know, Colleen grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and was the first deaf cheerleader at her college for 4 years.
