Brooks Bebon

English Teacher/Mentor

Brooks teaches English at Fusion Academy Fairfield. Born in NYC and raised in Fairfield, Brooks attended Fairfield Prep for high school, graduating in 2011. Consequently, Brooks continued with his Jesuit education and attended Boston College, graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. After graduation Brooks moved back home and began working for a small publishing company in NYC as part of their sales and social media team. Brooks quickly became disillusioned with corporate life and by May of 2016 was living in Phuket, Thailand teaching ESL at a local public high school.

By 2018, Brooks was ready to expand his horizons once again as he set off for Dublin, Ireland having enrolled in an MA program at University College Dublin. He submitted his Master’s dissertation the first week of August 2019 and a month later would find himself teaching ESL in Getafe, Spain a suburb of Madrid. By the end of the year, Brooks received word that his dissertation had been accepted and that he had graduated from UCD with First Class Honors and a Master of Arts in modern and contemporary English literature and theory.

Brooks continued to live and teach in Spain until March of 2020 when Covid-19 made it apparent that it was not just a week phenomenon.

Brooks enjoys writing, reading, practicing yoga, and all things New York Rangers in his free-time. He hopes to eventually have a few novels of his own, but in the mean-time loves to spread his passion for English literature and the power of the written word. Besides teaching at Fusion, Brooks also runs an international book club, White Rabbit, which serves as another outlet for him to spread the good word of English letters.
