Director of First Impressions
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During her time as a non-for-profit Director of Education she launched internship programs and crafted educational outreach initiatives from the ground up. She has a particular passion for Shakespeare and classical literature and extensively taught Shakespeare in the Chicago Public Schools, with a knack for eliciting mastery of challenging texts by making them fun and accessible. Her passion lies in revealing the unifying power of the arts as a platform through which we discover and exchange our collective humanity. The draw to find unique avenues toward individualized understanding and the awakening of a love of learning is how she found her way into education. She has seen first-hand how effective teacher/student/parent communication can work wonders.
Melissa is an avid equestrian and photographer and enjoys hiking, traveling and anything involving nature.
