Anne Walchak

Assistant Director

Annie began her career in education working with elementary and middle school students as an Academic Interventionist in Chicago Public Schools. She then taught middle school English, gifted/accelerated and special education inclusion, before moving into a Mentor Teacher role, teaching in the classroom while supporting new teacher development. An interest in social/emotional learning and physical wellness on student outcomes led to teaching at a bilingual school with a health/wellness focus. While teaching, Annie obtained certification to teach English Language Learners and served as a Clinical Instructor for teachers in training. Starting in 2018, Annie did education work for mental health organizations, working with students ages 7-26 on academic goals and executive function support. Outside of work, Annie enjoys traveling, spending lots of time with her huge family, and good food (especially when she doesn’t have to cook)!
