Chris Kanzler

Head of School


Chris graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Hispanic Studies, which included an opportunity to live and learn in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After graduation, Chris lived and worked abroad. In Thailand, he completed a 120 hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification. While living in Santiago, Chile, Chris sat for the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam, obtaining level C2.


Chris has worked in education since college, participating in the AmeriCorps Jumpstart program. After college, he taught in South Korea for a year before returning to the States and joining the Fusion Academy Los Angeles team as a Homework Café teacher. After more travel and teaching positions in Thailand, Chile & Brazil, Chris moved to Chicago and joined the Fusion Academy Lincoln Park team as their Master Teacher and, later, Assistant Director. In 2019, Chris moved to Colorado to open up the Fusion Academy Denver campus as its Head of School.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Hiked part of the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain.
  • Attended the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
  • Used to have a cat named Frida and now has a dog named Diego.
