Utilizing Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for the Treatment of Anxiety Disorders and OCD

Exposure response prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based approach for the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD. ERP works to address the underlying fears of anxiety, obsessions and compulsions by targeting the ineffective behavior. ERP aims to reduce symptoms associated with these disorders by increasing distress tolerance through repeated exposure of the distressing stimuli. This presentation will guide clinicians on the therapeutic application of ERP with their clients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Providing clinicians with effective tools for the treatment of anxiety disorders and OCD
  • Identify and address treatment obstacles
  • How to design effective exposures for clients
