David Anzaldo

Teacher/Mentor

Education

David completed his Bachelor’s in Spanish, Latin American Studies, and Anthropology at the University of Idaho. Afterwards David moved to Missouri to get his Master’s in Language Teaching (MALT) at the University of Missouri. I began my teaching curriculum at the University level, focusing on surveys of modern and post-modern Peninsular and Latin-American literature. However, due to a chance opportunity to work at a Charter school in San Diego specializing in Special Education, I have redirected my focus into combining my love of sharing language and literature, with the importance of student development and culture. I moved back to California in 2021, first starting at the public high school sector and now here at Futures Academy Cupertino. I am extremely excited to be here as I believe Futures is exactly the environment needed to really build a strong bond for education between student and instructor.
Outside of the classroom you can find me in a kitchen, participating in my own version of Chopped (with some results better than others!), following most of the major sports leagues, trying my hand out at the next pool tournament, or getting lost in a museum.

Experience

David hadn’t intended to be a teacher at first; it wasn’t until he substituted for one of his parents’ literature courses at UCI that he discovered my drive for education.
