Michael (Mike) is a Chicagoland native who grew up in Wilmette, IL. He graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education. He went on to earn a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from DePaul University, a certificate in non-profit leadership from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, and a certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.
He started his career as a high school Biology teacher and later transitioned into leadership roles including principal of a high school in Chicago. His work has been focused on equity in education, social-emotional learning, and restorative practices which he has presented on both locally and nationally.
Outside his work-life, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children . He has dedicated himself to mastering skills in the “dad arts” including barbequing and lawn maintenance.
