Lauren Maly

Teacher/Mentor

Lauren teaches History and English at Fusion Academy Oak Brook. She earned her B.A. in History and English from Washington University in St. Louis, spent a year studying and researching at the University of Oxford, and has an M.A. in African History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Lauren's graduate research focused on Uganda's tea industry, so she knows a lot of fun facts about tea production and consumption all over the world. She was also the president of the Harry Potter club at Washington University, and is happy to put her otherwise useless knowledge of fictional worlds to good use whenever she can.

Outside of teaching, Lauren enjoys reading, writing, spending time with her pets (a cat and a horse), and watching quirky British TV shows. While living in England, she was a member of the Oxford University Light Entertainment Society--the acting group where some members of Monty Python got their start!
