Christopher Baugher

Teacher/Mentor

Education

I have a BS in Biology from University of Illinois at Chicago, PhD (pending) from University of Idaho.

Experience

I worked as an analytical chemist for 10 years before returning to school and get my BS. After volunteering in a research lab at UIC, and some mild arm twisting from my mentor, I applied and was accepted into the National Science Foundation IGERT program; a team-based interdisciplinary PhD program. I passed my final defense and am hammering out the last details to my dissertation.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • I volunteer at DuPage County Animal Services, walking the dogs and getting them ready for adoption.
  • I picked up the bass guitar for my pandemic hobby and I am loving it!
  • I once took a solo trip to Peru, climbed up the mountain behind Machu Pichu and ate an orange given to me by a group of Japanese tourists while we all watched the clouds drift by.
