Ivan graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, English. Upon graduation, Ivan decided to obtain his Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) Certificate, and spent five years living and teaching English abroad between Argentina and Uruguay.

Ivan has worked in various educational settings and roles, such as an online ESL teacher for young learners in China, in-person Business English teacher in Argentina, and online Essay Coach/Editor for students applying to colleges across the US.
