Special Education Lead
Rachel is so excited to be the Special Education Lead at Fusion Academy. She has been involved in education for the past 27 years. After graduating from Indiana University with a B.S. in elementary education she immediately started teaching in the suburbs of Chicago. Rachel saw the need for special education in the regular classroom and went on to earn a masters degree in Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders from National Lewis University. She continued to work as special education teacher in both public and private schools. Rachel was the case manager for many students and enjoyed collaborating with teachers and parents. She also has experience with tutoring kids of all ages specializing in reading and executive functioning. For the past six years Rachel worked for a neuropsychologist testing and evaluating kids for learning difficulties. She is thrilled to be back in a school setting and having the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, parents, and students.
Rachel is married with three children and a golden doodle named Mini. During her free time she enjoys watching Netflix, working out, and cooking.
