Jennifer Rising returned to the Lake Forest area after teaching in Maui, Hawaii for four years. Prior to that she was the Math and Science Director at Lake Forest Country Day School. During that time she won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, which was presented by President Barack Obama at The White House. Jennifer's first degree was in oboe performance from the Eastman School of Music, after which she played in orchestras around the world. Later she new she wanted to teach, and returned to school to earn a Bachelor degree from Western Carolina University and a Master's degree from the University of Georgia.
