You can also join us as we explore foundational strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and learn how to apply them to reduce anxiety-related distress. We will also introduce the core principles of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and its unique, effective approach to targeting anxiety. All while highlighting how combining these two techniques can offer a powerful solution for reducing anxiety and addressing school avoidance.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand basic principles of DBT skills and how they can be used to reduce anxiety.
- Understand basic principles of ART and its impact on decreasing anxiety.
- Understand how to apply principles and skills from DBT in combination with the reprocessing techniques of ART to target anxiety and school avoidance.
Speakers:
Lisa Besler is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Linehan Board Certified DBT therapist with over 15 years of experience. She works as the Clinical Director at DBT of South Jersey, where she provides therapy services to adults and clinical oversight to the DBT of South Jersey organization. Lisa is trained in working with anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma, among other mental health concerns. In addition to her clinical work, Lisa is the facilitator of Elevate Your Leadership, where she provides leadership coaching to other supervisors in the mental health field.
Christina Sterlacci is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is trained in DBT and ART and has experience as an ART training assistant. Chrissy has a passion for working with trauma survivors and the neurodivergent community. She has completed training in ADHD and Autism Assessment to help better identify and support neurodivergent individuals. She works with teens aged 13+ and adults.

DBT of South Jersey is an outpatient behavioral health facility located in Voorhees and Moorestown, NJ, serving children, teens, couples, and adults with issues related to emotional dysregulation, trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, and other concerns. DBT of South Jersey is the only Linehan Board Certified DBT program in all of South Jersey.
