Director of First Impressions
Karin DeAmicis is the Director of First Impressions at Fusion Academy’s Charlotte campus. Karin earned her Bachelor of Science at Miami University (Ohio) in Secondary Education, Mathematics, and her Master of Science in Educational Psychology and Research at the University of Memphis. She is certified in the Montessori method through the Center for Montessori Teacher Education.
Prior to joining Fusion, Karin taught elementary through undergraduate students, with her favorite course being Statistics. She mentored new teachers and was a contributing author for a Biostatistics undergraduate textbook. Karin conducted national grant evaluations, served on the research team for the Understanding Teaching Quality project and the NYC Charter School project with University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research and with Harvard EdLabs. She has written Institutional Reports and contributed to the successful SACSCOC reaffirmation at both Kennesaw State University and Georgia Tech with their Office of Assessment. At Tech, Karin enjoyed serving as a Leadership Fellow, mentoring undergraduate students.
Karin loves to be outdoors, to travel, to play tennis, and to spend time with her husband, two teenage daughters, and their two rescue dogs.
