Jorge Monteagudo was born and raised in Cuba, where he lived before moving to North Carolina at age 14. Soon after he enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry with a concentration in Pre-Dentistry. With four years of mentorship experience Jorge acquired a love for teaching and inspiring future generations.
During his college career he became the President of Student Outreach Achievement Recreation, SOAR, where he focused on mentoring and teaching science, technology, engineering, arts and math to Latino middle school students. In this organization he understood the link between of mentorship and learning and the importance of individually tailored lessons to assess each individual student’s needs. Jorge is thrilled to be a part of the Fusion team and can’t wait to see the great things his students will achieve.
