Faye Shaer

Teacher: STEM

Faye was born and raised in Columbia, MD until the third grade, when she moved to Asheville, NC with her family. Spending a year in Asheville, she then moved to Jordan and lived there for five years, where she learned how to speak Arabic fluently and expanded her multicultural background. She finally settled with her family in Charlotte, where she finished high school while being enrolled in the middle college program to receive early college credit. Completing her Bachelor’s degree in three years at Wingate University, she graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors as a biology major on the pre-dental track. During her undergraduate years, Faye discovered her love for teaching and making a difference in other’s lives as she served in leadership roles such as tutoring for Anatomy and Physiology and being a board member on the University Honor Council.

Currently, Faye is completing the first year of her MPH by pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Public Health at East Carolina University all while preparing for dental school to fulfill her goal of becoming a dentist. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at Atrium Health, the American Red Cross, and as a dental assistant at a free dental clinic.

Faye is very excited to being a part of the Fusion Team at Charlotte, where she can make a positive impact on students and facilitate their success, all while sharing with them her passion for math and sciences.
