Description

Nurturing Resilience in our Children and Ourselves During Challenging Times

An event with Dr. Bob Brooks, co-author of Tenacity in Children

Wednesday, April 6th
6:30 – 8:00pm
Via Zoom Link (RSVP Below for link)

The past two years have represented an especially stressful time.  Anxiety, depression, and mental health problems have increased in all age groups.  Many children and families have been burdened with emotional and learning challenges, prompting a sense of pessimism about future events.  In this presentation Dr. Brooks will describe specific strategies for reinforcing a sense of hope and resilience in ourselves and our children and students.  He will highlight a strength-based approach in which personal control, intrinsic motivation, caring, responsibility, and resilience are reinforced as are each child’s strengths or “islands of competence.”  Many examples will be used to illustrate these strategies.
