Richard Doherty


B.A. / M.A.


Richard Doherty graduated from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy and Music. He continued his education at NUIM in 2013, graduating with an M.A. in Computer Music Technology.


Doherty taught Music Education at CBS James' Street (Highschool) in Dublin, 2012-2013. He also taught Instrumental Performance and Music Theory at Metro Music School 2010-2013. Doherty is also an accomplished author. His most recent short story publication appeared in Cyphers Magazine (Irelands oldest literary magazine). Cyphers Magazine.

Fun Facts and Hobbies

  • Takes acting classes in Manhattan, while currently writing his second feature film screenplay.
  • An avid soccer player, competed in the prestigious Dallas Cup in 1998.
  • A competent musician, toured with the NUIM Guitar Ensemble and has performed in many music venues around NYC including Rockwood Music Hall and An Beal Bocht Cafe.
