Eating Disorders in Students: Identifying Symptoms and Offering Resources

Date & Time

Tuesday, March 05

5:30pm - 6:30pm EST

Eating disorders impact millions of Americans every year, particularly the adolescent population. Ruthie Flynn, MA, from Equip is excited to join Fusion Academy to discuss this topic. We will cover basic ‘eating disorder 101’ psychoeducation, identifying signs and symptoms in students, as well as the appropriate steps to take in order to provide support and resources. We will also discuss ways you can foster a healthy, weight-neutral, and safe environment for teens who may be struggling with body image distress and/or eating disorders.

Ruthie Flynn, MA is a Clinical Partnerships Representative at Equip based in New York City. She supports Equip’s growth in the New York region, establishing relationships with therapists, social workers, medical professionals, and community members through psychoeducation and other collaborative work.
