As ALL of my students know, I love my home state of Ohio, growing up in the Cleveland area. My passion for music started there in the 2nd grade, when I begged my parents to enroll me in formal piano lessons. I taught myself guitar in middle school and couldn’t seem to get enough. My passions for organized sound grew even more from there.
I studied Architecture post high school but ultimately completed my Bachelors of Arts degree in Jazz Composition in guitar at THE Ohio State University, GO BUCKS! This experience was inordinately profound, being able to arrange and compose for so many types of instrumentation with small and large ensembles.
My career in teaching began in 2009. Since then, I have taught in various private, public, and charter schools in Ohio, Florida, and even in the Virgin Islands.
Music is constantly apart of my life outside of teaching. I teach privately and thoroughly enjoy composing, arranging, and performing. I am constantly listening to Reggae, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock, and so many other genres to satisfy my ears’ cravings for a good groove!
