Tyler was born in Austin and has lived in several cities across Texas including San Antonio, College Station, and Fort Worth. He received his B.A. and M.A. in U.S. History from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Recently, he completed his Ph.D. in U.S. History from Texas A&M University. His dissertation, entitled, “Representations of Texas Indians in Texas Myth and Memory: 1869-1936,” examines how Native Americans were mythologized by Anglo pioneers across several public sites in the Texas Panhandle.
Tyler loves contributing to the field of education and has a passion for facilitating the success of his students. Influential high school teachers and mentors who cared about Tyler are the exact reason he fell in love with teaching. He wants to make a positive difference in the lives of his students as well.
When Tyler is not teaching he loves to spend time with his wife and their dogs. Tyler also enjoys cooking as well as trying all the amazing food in Austin.
