Post Secondary Counselor
Julie joined the Fusion family in August 2016. Part of her journey as a Post-Secondary Counselor thus far has included: assisting students with determining what they do (or do not) want to do after high school (and also normalizing feelings of uncertainty for those are unsure), helping with the college application process, celebrating when acceptance letters came in or figuring out “plan b” when they didn’t, and so much more. She teaches Life Skills and Psychology and enjoys working with students as a teacher and mentor and is also the counselor on campus. As a counselor, she can help students with a myriad of life happenings–including, but not limited to: developing appropriate coping skills, increased self-awareness, life transitions, etc.
Julie has over 8 years professional experience working with individuals with differing abilities, including: intellectual & developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, learning differences, and challenging behaviors as a mentor, nanny, teacher, career development instructor, and counselor. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and is currently provisionally licensed as a licensed professional counselor-intern.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, and traveling. She is a lover of animals and a cat-mom to a rambunctious tabby named Godzilla.
