While I am new to Fusion, I am certainly not new to teaching. I began teaching in Wissahickon School District. At that time, I taught a class of elementary school-aged children with special needs. While those little ones were my loves…I then became a mom and spent approximately 8 years out of the school system & stayed home with my own children. I went back to work in Souderton School District; this time as a middle school guidance counselor. I enjoyed that for a little more than five years. Over the past few years I’ve been trying to figure out exactly where I belong in the world of education. I found myself at Fusion when I was looking at it for my son. Not only did I fall in love with the school for him, but I realized that Fusion was the embodiment of all the things I stood for as an educator.I love kids: from infants to teenagers and every stage in between. The 2 quotes that embody my feelings about the beauty of kids and out gift of being educators is “Every child is gifted. They just unwrap their packages at different times “- unknown “Every child needs at least one adult who is irrationally crazy about him or her.” – Urie Bronfinbrenner. When I am not teaching, I am either taking a Pilates class, or doing all things Mom & wife (and daughter – my mom lives 8 minutes away). I am crazy attached to my cat. I love the Golden Girls. Watching a sunset is my second favorite exhale – the first being enjoying a rainstorm.
