Education
Alyson attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology. She then went to graduate school at the College of William and Mary where she graduated with a Master of Education in School Counseling. She has earned additional professional certifications including National Certified Counselor (NCC) and 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200).
Experience
Alyson started her school counseling career in 2015 with Prince William County Schools in Virginia. Initially, she served as the 3rd-5th grade counselor at an elementary school, and after three years she transferred to a high school in the same county. As a high school counselor, Alyson worked with 9th-12th grade students with a wide variety of academic, college & career, and social/emotional needs.
Fun Facts and Hobbies
- An avid snowboarder since 9th grade
- A true Taylor Swift fan, attended a concert when Taylor was just the opening act for Rascal Flatts
- Is learning to bake, rock climb, and practice archery this year!
