Marcus Williams

Marcus is an English Teacher/Mentor at Fusion Academy Alexandria. He studied Collaborative Special Education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Al. In his first four years teaching, he taught Special Education in both inclusion and pull-out class settings. He taught in West Sussex, England, Tuscaloosa, AL. Birmingham, AL. and Norcross, GA. before taking a break from the traditional path (and classroom).  Since 2013, he has followed the artistic path that he had always desired. While living in New York City, he joined writer’s groups, created and hosted open mic events, and performed as an actor/dancer/singer on multiple stages. Still having the desire to teach, he began facilitating after-school programming for creative writers. In 2020, Marcus turned his attention to teaching poetry and assisting writers with developing their creative muscle which he still does today.

When Marcus isn’t working as a teacher he enjoys travel, reading, music, and listening to podcasts. To keep his creativity flowing he engages in acting, writing, dancing, singing, video editing, and photography.

Fun Fact: Marcus can be seen as an extra on Season One of Tyler Perry’s, “The Haves and the Have Nots”.
