Alysha Woodward

Math Teacher/Mentor

Alysha is enthused to be a new member of the Fusion Academy Alexandria team as a Math teacher. Alysha comes from a diverse background, having lived in sprawling metropolitan cities (like Montreal, Boston and Toronto) and rural landscapes (like Ohio and Western New York), and teaching in all types of schools along the way. To boot, she has taught in a variety of grades, from primary grades to college students, in subject areas like science, math and assistance with special education and mild learning disabilities.

Working in STEM and with (pre)adolescents are two big passions of hers, and it is in teaching where she finds the best combination of both. Alysha’s credentials include a Pre-medicine Bachelors degree from McGill and a Masters in Education from the University of Rochester. In addition, she has her certification for SPED in mild to moderate disabilities for grades K-8 and 8-12.

Her hobbies include watching food documentaries, playing trivia games, academic and career counseling, and singing backup to various Billboard artists in her car.”
