Brandon L. Voss
The development of his unique style is the result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in the city which is considered the birth place of blues, Memphis TN, Brandon was always surrounded by the array of music.
His first foray into learning an instrument himself came when he started to play the piano aged just 9 years old. In 2006, Brandon was awarded second chair and soloist in the 2006 All-State Tennessee Jazz Honor band were thousands of alto saxophonists in the state of Tennessee competed. This achievement earned him multiple music scholarships to institutions throughout the United States. Brandon ultimately chose to accept the full music scholarship from Xavier of Louisiana in New Orleans.
During this time he was sought out by many musical artist agents seeking his assistance on various projects. Some lead to him working with hip hop artist Lil Wayne and r and b artist Keisha Cole just to name a few. In 2009, Brandon participated in an east coast jazz tour. In June of 2009, Brandon traveled to New York City to perform in the renowned Carnegie Hall with Grammy winner saxophonist Kirk Whalum..
Brandon graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2011. In May of 2014, Brandon graduated earning a Master’s of Music degree with a concentration in Jazz Studies. Currently, Brandon is a music educator, performer, and arranger/producer. He has performed and worked with numerous well- known artists across all genres. He is always trying to find a way to impact the musical community.
