Misty grew up in Minnesota where she attended undergrad at College of St. Benedict, an all girl’s school. She earned her BA in Spanish with double minor is K-12 education and Latin/Latino Studies. From there she moved to the east coast where she began her teaching career. For eight years Misty taught Spanish to grades 6-12. While she loved teaching and building strong relationships with her students, Misty also found a passion for coaching teachers. She earned her Master’s in Education from McDaniel College in Maryland in Curriculum and Instruction and Administration and Supervision. From the classroom, she transitioned to a Dean of Students and an Assistant Principal. Before joining Fusion, Misty was an independent consultant for the NYC DOE and charter schools.

In her free time, Misty loves spending time with her pup, Herbert, and her family and friends. If you see her on the subway, it is most likely she’ll be reading!
